UK University UPS replacement

Sudlows have been working with a UK University as their dedicated Facilities Management Partner, maintaining their on-campus Data Centre for over 10 years.

One of their 300kVA monolithic UPS’s was due for an upgrade and Sudlows were engaged by the client to provide a solution to meet the University’s current IT load.

Due to the age of the existing UPS configuration Sudlows’ Facilities Management Team proposed to replace the existing 3 No. UPS’s, with a new N+1 Modular UPS, providing a ‘scalable’ solution that can grow with any additional IT load required within the facility.

Sudlows installed a 126kW N +1 modular UPS with a 33-minute autonomy based on current loads, projecting significant electricity savings per annum based on the current IT load and University’s current p/kWh rate.
