University Academy 92 (UA92) is a ground-breaking higher education institution co-founded by the Class of ‘92 and Lancaster University.
It is committed to making higher education accessible to all, no matter the background, through its founding principles of accessibility, social mobility, and inclusivity. UA92 offers a portfolio of degree and higher education courses across business, sport, media, and digital disciplines, preparing students for the world of work by offering industry-led courses.
The UA92 campus is based in Old Trafford Manchester, with a 36,000 sq ft UA92 Business School opened in the city centre in September 2023.
UA92 gives students a clear route into industry by opening the door to leading businesses.
Working in partnership with leading industry names including Microsoft, TalkTalk, KPMG and Manchester United, students benefit from mentors, guest lectures and work experience opportunities, in addition to character and personal development guidance, and financial support beyond traditional scholarships and government loans.
The Brief
Due to exponential growth, surpassing all forecasts, UA92 planned to expand their operations into Manchester City Centre with the acquisition of Baskerville House. The Baskerville House campus hosts the facility’s Business School and will cater for over 1,000 students.
In preparation for the arrival of students to the new Baskerville House site, UA92 required a series of Audio Visual solutions to be installed throughout 10 large classrooms, to provide quality learning facilities to their students.
The Project
In each of the 10 classrooms, Sudlows installed 1x wall mounted 85” Samsung flip touchscreen. Each screen connected to a Mersive Solstice Pod Gen3 to allow simultaneous users to present content whether they are on-site or off-site.
The project also included the installation of metal conduit to the ceilings of each open plan classroom to fix 6x CLOUD Pendant speakers to cover each classroom, the speakers were installed according to a room plan to allow for full sound coverage of the room.
Sudlows also provided two mobile Audio Visual trolleys that could be moved around Baskerville House to allow for greater flexibility. These trolleys were furnished with:
- 1x Mounted 85” Samsung Flip Touchscreen
- 1x Sonos Ray Soundbar
- 1x Mersive Solstice Pod Gen3
Sudlows also supplied 40x Dell Latitude 3330 and 75x 15” MacBook Air Laptops for use by the students.
Conclusion
Sudlows successfully completed the Audio Visual fit-out for UA92’s new Business School site. The fit-out included several wall mounted touchscreen installations along with sound devices to provide UA92 with the tools to provide quality sessions to their students. The brand-new equipment will allow UA92 to continue to cement itself as one of the leading higher education institutes in Manchester/Northwest.
