An opportunity has arisen within our successful, specialised engineering company for a Health & Safety Advisor to be based out of our Manchester office.

Sudlows specialise in electrical and data installation works and Data Centre construction. We have over 200 staff and are currently experiencing a period of growth and expansion. Role Purpose

Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager you will assist in all matters relating to H&S within the company that will include the deployment of our pro-active and reactive work monitoring systems. In addition, you will provide efficient and effective administrative support, including maintenance and update of the company H&S computer-based information systems.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Carry out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented.
  • Work with operational staff to develop job specific Risk Assessments / Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Reviewing and approving Sub-Contractor/Supplier pre-qualification questionnaires.
  • Carry out regular H&S audits on company owned/controlled facilities.
  • Assist with accident/incident and near miss investigations.
  • Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect Sudlows.
  • Produce Small Works and Construction Phase Health and Safety Plans for multiple projects.
  • Assist with in-house training with Managers and Employees about health and safety issues and risks.
  • Keep records of inspection findings and producing reports that suggest improvements.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments.
  • Produce management reports, newsletters and bulletins.
  • Assist in Sustainability and Environment management processes.

Essential Qualifications:

  • NEBOSH qualified.
  • NEBOSH Membership.
  • IEMA Qualified (or willing to complete training).
  • CSCS/ECS card.
  • First aid training.
  • Driving licence.

Desirable:

  • A background, or experience in construction or engineering.
