Just weeks after collecting the award for IET (Institute for Engineering & Technology) Technician of the Year 2015. Sam Wicks,  Data Centre Design Engineer, has also been named the Young Mission Critical Engineer of The Year at the Data Centre Dynamics EMEA Awards 2015.

Sam, who attended the gala dinner in London’s Royal Lancaster Hotel hosted by television comedian, game show host and all-round celebrity Alexander Armstrong, was chosen by a panel of industry experts to be the recipient of this prestigious award.

Sam is now the second Sudlows recipient of this award, following his colleague Zac Potts also a Data Centre Design Engineer.

Sam commented; “To win another award is a real privilege. There are some exceptionally talented engineers in this category and I hope that this award will inspire the next generation of Engineers to look at working within the data centre industry.”

The DCD EMEA Awards are part of a unique global series recognizing the most outstanding projects, teams and professionals in the field. Previous winners have included some of the world’s leading brands and this year the winners were from across the region, including UAE, UK, Ireland, Turkey, the Netherlands, Greece, Spain, West Africa, and Finland.

The winning entries were the result of rigorous selection by an independent judging panel of industry experts, seeking to identify success, leadership, innovation and best practice in data centre projects, people and teams.
